DescriptionPaul Lauritz was born in Norway and was exposed to art at an early age by studying with local as well as foreign artists in Larvik, Norway. Lauritz began painting landscapes while living in Vancouver and Portland, Oregon while working as a commercial artist. In 1919, he settled in Los Angeles while teaching at Chouinard and Otis Art Institute. His diverse subjects included desert scenes, portraits, snow scenes, marines and landscapes as can be seen in this untitled painting.On View
