DescriptionThis vase was made by a Tewa Pueblo artist of the Santa Clara Pueblo, Dolorita Tafoya Padilla, and is made in the traditional blackware style in which during firing, it is deprived of oxygen turning it black. The shiny surfaces are made be burnishing or polishing the clay before firing and creates a distinction from the unpolished matte surfaces of the bowl. This is a hand built vase.On View
