DescriptionCarved ivory vase with lid(2005.9.76B) has two dog faces on opposite sides near neck that function to hold dangling loop handles. Three similar scenes appear on the vase, one at the neck and two on opposite sides of the body. The opposite side scenes change from four figures in a roofed structure with six figures outside in a natural environment, to four figures in two different structures and six outside holding a rectangular shped object-they are also surrounded by natural elements. The vase is highly ornate in design.On View
