DescriptionThis calligraphy is an ink on paper painting by Taiwanese artist Howard Shih. The painter's ancestral home was Jinling, and his grandfather was Mr. Shi Liangcai, a prominent journalist in early 20th century Shanghai. Howard Shih graduated from the University of California. He studied literature and calligraphy since childhood. He is the head of California Chinese Calligraphy & Painting Academy, and vice-president of the United States Lanting Pavilion organization. Since 1979, Mr. Shih has held numerous personal calligraphy displays in Yokohama, Japan, and especially in the U.S. cities of New York and Los Angeles.
