DescriptionA headdress collected from Highland area of Papua New Guinea and dates from the mid to late 20th Century. Unclear what specific province the adornment originates from. Large black or dark brown headdress constructed primarily of black colored human hair held together with brown twisted twine. This headdress is circular in shape with a flat top and gradually gets narrower towards the bottom. The top is adorned with a bundle of cassowary feathers. The feathers are golden brown in color towards the root compared to the ends.On View
