DescriptionThis flower market stood at the corner of Vermont and Wilshire in the Westlake neighborhood of Los Angeles, then one of the most desirable residential areas of Los Angeles. Coburn was an expressionistic artist who often painted en plein air using strong color and loose brushwork. He was one of few artists in the region during the 1920s that diversified his subject matter to include urban themes; he had a studio in downtown Los Angeles at the time.On View
