Description(Label Copy) - This design is typical of Kiua Polychrome wares made at Santa Domingo from as early as 1775. Kiua Polychrome is typified by simplicity of design utilizing bands of solid geometrics on a cream colored ground. The base of these vessels is usually painted red. The design of this vessel is laid out in three bands. The center band is composed of articulated solid black triangles, which originally may have connoted butterflies.On View
