Modjeska played JULIET in this costume; in #32211 - object #16 she is shown in this costume for that role in PUTNAM'S MAGAZINE, The Lounger section. (Miss M. Refugio Carpenter died in 1888 and was the first wife of J.E. Pleasants - in 1890 he married Miss Adalina Brown.)
