DescriptionHasui Kawase primarily made landscape prints, many of which were destroyed in a 1923 earthquake. He was known for using western realism and with the Japanese decorative appeal. This print was likely inspired by the very famous Utagawa Hiroshige print “Sudden Shower over Shin-Ōhashi Bridge and Atake” in his One Hundred Famous Views of Edo series. On View
