DescriptionThis child's embroidered patchwork quilt from c. 1910 is made in a "Penny Squares" pattern with white panels on a red ground. The panels are embroidered with designs of animals, Santa Claus, Baby Sister in high chair, trains, and more. The quilting is done in a diamond shape design; white patches on deep red cotton background with ruffle. Intended for a small child's bed. Figures embroidered from transfer printed pattern ironed on muslin squares.
