DescriptionThe gourd has been modified to represent a head. Two large knobs of cottonwood serve as the ears. One knob at the back of the head may represent the nose of a second face. An additional knob is atop the gourd. The eyes and mouth of the primary fact are tubular. The handle is fashioned of cottonwood. Feathers dangle from each knob. The gourd is painted orange-red, the handle is white. N. Arizona. Resembles mudhead Katsina.
