DescriptionMission Indians, Warner Hot Springs. Design five pointed star and small roosters in brown, finely stitched coiled basket constructed of mottled tan and brown juncus. The colors have been well sorted out and woven into a subtle design including a rooster form on the flared side. A five-pointed star is emphasized in the center. The special method of ending stitches common in Mission basketry in illustrated in the outline of the star.
