DescriptionEthnic Arts - Beaded hat (Daniel Boone style). Made in three sections, all-over beading in shades of rose, blue, yellow, green and in white. Beautifully done. Bound in red calico, lined with natural colored cotton fabric. Purchased from Indians by owner's grandfather, James P. Thurston, when he came across the Plains from Virginia in 1849. For it, he traded provisions. Beadwork on black velvet is raised design, with typical Iroquois edging around crown & rim of zig-zag design, 5.25" H x 11.5" L x 7" W.
