DescriptionBasket - jar shaped, coiled, foundation cat-tail or grasses, sewing of yucca fiber or other white fiber, with designs horses with man up, colts and women, in martynia. Made by Papago Indians. Height 9" Diam. base 7.375" Diam. rim 6.5"
Card 2: Ex. Label: In this storage basket yucaa and devil's claw have been stutched over a foundation of bear grass. The animals and human forms decorating the basket are in acrobatic positions perhaps illustrating circus figures. The designs may have been developed in response to commercial demands.
