DescriptionMayan tripodal vessel, Guatemala. Traces of red pigment (possibly cinnabar or red ochre) in incised design. Vessel is cylindrical. Slip is greyish-cream. Trace of black paint along the base. Design is composed of two triangular panels of deeply incised jaguar-like figures. Vessel stands on three legs.
