DescriptionThis object is a Maya funerary vessel from Peten, Guatemala. It dates to the Classic Period, approximately 300-950 CE. The large vessel is cylindrical with a flat bottom and three hollow legs, each containing a small ball of hard clay which create a rattle effect when the vessel is moved.
