DescriptionUnique, rare ceremonial wood carving of the Yoruba Tribe of Nigeria, illustrating a wedding procession depicting five male and eight female figures aligned in five rows. Two figures a man and a woman appear to be the central figures of the procession. Man bears diamond shaped incisions on his cheeks representing scarification; he is wearing Fes type hat. Woman holds long tresses in either hand.
