DescriptionEnglish-born Leonard Lester studied art in his homeland and first came to Southern California in the early 1890s at which time he resided in Los Angeles and Pasadena, and created illustrations for a magazine, The Art Amateur. By the late 1890s, he had become associated with The Theosophical Society where he taught art at their various branches, including a branch located in Point Loma near San Diego and a branch in Cuba. Most of his career after 1916 was spent in the San Diego area. He is best known for his exquisite pencil drawings. On View
