DescriptionAlthough George Gardner Symons spent most of his mature career outside California, he is identified with Southern California through his travel and work in the 1890s and through his ownership of a home/studio in Arch Beach (Laguna Beach) for many years in the early twentieth century. His most frequently painted subject is snowy landscapes of New England. Occasionally, however, a work what can be identified as "Californian" appears, usually an seascape, more rarely a landscape like this one.On View
