DescriptionEskimo parka with hood (seal gut) beaded with dentalium shells and blue and red beads at drawstring for hood and wrists; bits of red wool are flecked throughout body at seams. Red commercial tape at wrists and dark burgundy colored tape at waist.There are a number of tears throughout the parka and it was soaked in water to fold to box size. Soaked and mounted in case for exhibition in History Room. Labelled - SEAL GUT PARKA WITH BLUE RUSSIAN TRADE BEADS AND TUSK SHELLS - mounted on large plexi-covered case and exhibited in History Room.
