DescriptionThis 1905 photograph depicts a Jersey-cow-drawn wagon pulling a jumbo-sized can of cream. The Pacific Creamery Co., originally part of one of the first industrial plants in Orange County, had a factory located in Buena Park which processed the product of over 200 individual dairies throughout the region. It was a major industry in the city and perhaps the largest supplier of canned cream in the region. The cart was more than just print advertising though. Accounts decades after the Pacific Creamery Co. closed mention that the wagon was a common sight throughout Los Angeles and Orange Counties, meaning that the gimmick was quite effective.
