DescriptionSewing in willow. Lug of hand woven cords. Basketry water bottles were a necessity in the arid environment traditionally inhabited by the Paiute. The constricted neck helped to prevent the water from evaporating, the pointed end allowed the bottle to be set in the sand without tipping over, and the handles made it easy to put it on a string and carry.
