PHOTOGRAPH
Los Angeles.
c. 1870.
The two gentlemen in this photo of the famous Plaza in Orange have never been identified. It has been speculated that these are Andrew Glassel and Alfred Chapman promoting their new town of Richland. Richland was renamed Orange in honor of Glassel's home county in New Jersey. The building in the background is identified as the Bank of Orange which is today Wells Fargo Bank.
