DescriptionThis unique object requires more research, but appears to be a multicolored staff with panels of red, black, and off-white pigment. It was collected by the donor in the Trobriand Islands of Papua New Guinea's Milne Bay Province. At its top, the object has a carved circular hole which may have been used to tie other adornments to the staff such as feathers, shells, and woven plant fiber ornaments. On View
