DescriptionOvimbundu staff, Angola, Zaire. Carved wood with stand. Staff head is in the form of a human head with elaborate headgear. Headgear is characterized by incised parallel lines forming triangles. Brass studs are used to form the eyes and at the mouth. Numerous brass studs decorate the top and back of the head.
