DescriptionBorn in Guadalajara, Jalisco, on February 26th, 1915, Raul Anguiano was a prominent member of the Mexican School of Art who produced various political paintings and murals, notably dealing with tenets of anti-Fascism in his art. Influenced by the works of muralists Diego Rivera, Jose Clemente Orozco, and David Alfaro Siqueiros, Anguiano began to create revolutionary political murals in 1936 but subsequently moved toward portraiture and mythic, picturesque, and indigenous themes in his later works. From 2001 to 2006, Anguiano taught in the Santa Ana Unified School District, suggesting that this work was likely produced in California. This print is number 62/100.On View
