DescriptionThe "Three Friends" design on this plate is named for its pine tree, bamboo stalk, and plum tree. The first two maintain their green color through the winter and the third blossoms toward the end of winter. Together they symbolize longevity, perseverance, and integrity, the core virtues of the gentleman scholar.
