DescriptionThis helmet was made by the Otuho (or Lotuko) people of South Sudan. Helmets like these are marks of great esteem, conferred only to warriors who have proven their courage and skill in battle. Beneath its brass and ostrich feather exterior is a base of woven human hair and clay which allows the helmet to fit more comfortably and securely on the wearer's head.On View
