DescriptionThis figure from Nayarit, Mexico likely represents a shaman blowing his vital breath into an herbal mixture in the jar. This practice is still done by contemporary shamans in West Mexico in the belief that the herbal concoction is given added potency by their breath and that part of their spirit force is now infused in the herbal mixture.
