DescriptionThis doll is named Madge and she was played with by Alice and Mabel Grandin primarily between 1895 and 1900. She was manufactured by the Jumeau Doll Company near Paris, France.Her body is made of composition, a common material for dolls composed of sawdust, glue, and other materials such as cornstarch, resin, and wood flour. This design was developed by Jumeau c. 1880, and features jointed limbs held together with rubber cord to allow for flexibility.
