DescriptionThis handmade Coquette doll hails from Germany where it was made by Gebrüder Heubach, a well-known doll maker of the late 19th and early 20th century. This style is known as a coquette doll which is a trade name given to dolls whose eyes flashed to one side. Between 1903 and 1912 such eyes were commonly referred to as "flirting eyes."Notable physical features include:
Intaglio blue eyes on a bisque shoulder head with blonde hair and a molded blue ribbon. Marked on the back of the bust: 6/Germany/7850. She has a muslin body with bisque arms, hands, and lower legs with shoes painted blue lustre. Blue-green satin dress, two petticoats, and pantalettes. She carries a blue parasol that matches her dress.
