DescriptionOil on masonite painting by Edward Kienholz (American, 1927-1980). Edward Kienholtz is certainly the best known of California's assemblage artists due to the notoriety surrounding the controversial Back Seat Dodge exhibited at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art in the late 1960s. This exhibit featured two full-sized mannequins necking in the back seat of an automobile. Prior to focusing on assemblage, Kinholz, under the influence of Abstract Expressionism, produced several paintings, one of which is "Point Pink."On View
