DescriptionPhotograph of a float from Santa Ana's Parade of Products, likely taken around 1906. The float is loaded with coops of chickens and decorated with plumes of pampas grass. Drawn by 2 horses. Driver (unidentified) standing in front of coops. Banner right front corner reads "Poultry we grow---" (unreadable). Banner at right rear gives date on "Eggs". Labels on individual coops.

This Santa Ana poultry float was a part of the Parade of Products which was first held in conjunction with the Orange County Fair in 1906. The parade was created to display the wealth of products produced in Orange County, a Queen was chosen each year, and prizes were awarded for livestock, produce, and homemade goods. To this day, the OC Fair continues this tradition by featuring a wide array of products for sale by individual vendors in sections of the fairgrounds named Carnival of Products, Parade of Products, and Festival of Products.
