DescriptionApulian terracotta krater. A bowl for mixing wine and water. Under the lip is a laurel band, under the two handles, palmettes. On one side two men in himatia appear on either side of a female figure holding a tambourine and forming a procession. On the other side three men appear wearing himatia engaged in conversation. This side is painted by a hand different than the first, a common practice in workshops. Produced in Southern Italy, by Greeks.On View
