DescriptionCeremonial Pipehead, with quadrilateral stem, tapered front, steatite with extensive lead inlay. Inlay was used from Lakes through the Plains to the Plateau regions; lead was softened with heat and tapped into designs cuts into the stone. Object collected by Henrietta Lunde Holte, mother of donor.
