DescriptionThis object is a three-footed vessel used to heat wine in preparation for drinking, and it was made during the Tang dynasty (618-907).The curving lines on the inside of the vessel would have made the contents appear to undulate when heated. The raised dragon and phoenix at the center are Chinese motifs, but the surrounding string of pearls reveals a Western Asian influence.On View
