DescriptionPastel signed W. A. Griffith and dated 1923 in lower right. Drawn by the noted Southern California artist William Alexander Griffith (1866-1940) shortly after his move to Laguna Beach around July 1920. The pastel depicts Tustin Walnut Groves with snow capped hills in the background. This work was donated by the daughter of the artist. Griffith used architectural/drafting linen, first washing out the gray colored sizing and then mounting the fine linen on board.
