DescriptionThis photograph depicts Bernardo Yorba adobe ruins and it was taken in 1910. The ruins were located in today Yorba Linda, California. Don Bernardo Yorba was a wealthy Californio ranchero. Construction started on the house in 1835 and was one of the most grand homes in the area. In 1858, Don Yorba died and his estate started to decline with property being given over to relatives. In 1926, the adobe home was demolished and today a plaque sits in the location of the original building.
