DescriptionA fighting pick from Highlands area in Papua New Guinea and dates back to the 20th century. Long wooden handle bound to another wooden piece with carved designs. The object has slight wear at its pointed tip and suggest from use. Fighting picks were carried by men and were used as weapons. When an enemy started to run, a fighting pick would be used to strike them from behind--usually around the shoulder area.On View
