DescriptionArmbands played a crucial role in the decoration of the warrior, allowing status to be shown both in battles as well as at ceremonial events. This band was placed on the arm below the elbow and is made from a hollowed out conus shell that shimmers in the daylight. Because the shell is such a prized possession, this type of armband denotes very high status for the owner. Wauri were also given as bride price.
