DescriptionThis spoon was made and used by one of the various cultural groups residing in northern Luzon Island in the Philippines, sometimes referred to jointly as Igorot peoples or Cordilleran peoples. A simple carved design such as this one would have been used for practical purposes, whereas a more ornately carved spoon might be used for ceremonial purposes and sometimes passed down within families as an heirloom. On View
