DescriptionThis dark wooden bow was collected from the Massim people residing in Papua New Guinea's Milne Bay Province. Men from Papua New Guinea used bows and skillfully crafted arrows for hunting and warfare. When used for warfare, the bow and arrow were one of the major offensive weapons in a man’s arsenal. When used for hunting, the bow and arrow allowed hunters to effectively and efficiently target large game. Bows were most frequently constructed of palmwood. On View
