DescriptionThis object is likely a door curtain, which are used by the Miao in the portals of the homes of wealthy families. While this example is consistent in that it is composed of two principal sections—the first is the main body of the textile and the second is an embroidered cover to the top of the hanging—it misses some characteristic of these textiles including the main body featuring a figurative design and the top section having tassels at its base.
