DescriptionBoar tusk is a commonly used medium for ornamentation throughout Papua New Guinea. While the carvings are stylistically conistent, albeit on a much smaller scale, with the types of objects one might see along the Sepik River, no similar examples of these boar tusk carvings have been published. It is possible that this object was created with the intention that it would be sold. This was likely made by the Papuan artist Jeff Liversidge or his son Travis.
