DescriptionThis is a wincha, or headband, from the Aymara or Quechua culture in Bolivia. Winchas are worn by women under their hats and feature delicately worked borders with glass beads. Once widely worn by Quechua women, they are now only worn in the Charazani Municipality of Bolivia. The ancient Paracas people used the patterns on winchas as the foundation for patterns worn on the rest of their clothing. On View
