DescriptionThis photograph depicts a Fourth of July celebration held at the home of Charles and Ada Bowers in 1918. In addition to Charles and Ada, Ada's sister Helen, sister-in-law Lottie, and niece Glenna are pictured. The inscriptions written on this photograph are by Florence Fisher Reed, granddaughter of Helen Abbott Reed.

Upon their death, Charles and Ada Bowers left their home and the land it sat upon to the City of Santa Ana under the express condition that the land be used to build a museum. Thus, Bowers Museum was built in the name of its founders.
