DescriptionProgram for “Triumph of Love”, a “production of The Beautiful Fairy Spectacle and Operetta” (possibly play and opera concert) held at Spurgeon Hall in Santa Ana on March 18, 1887. Produced by Mrs. L. Neumayer. The program lists musicians and fantasy and fairytale characters such as a Fairy Princess, a Fairy Godmother, demons, and evil spirits alongside corresponding actors’ names, a synopsis, and press reviews. Neumayers’ production is first recorded to have been launched in 1881. Productions have been throughout California all the way up to San Jose where it was performed every few years. The actors were typically local amateurs but were adored by critics and audiences.
