DescriptionSeated dog with turned head and open mouth. Clay with a red slip. Some usual erosion to slip. Colima Mexico. Protoclassic period.This is a highly expressive dog. The dog is in a seated position with the head turned sharply to the right. The mouth is opened in a snarling barking mode. Rows of teeth are visible. the surface treatment is unusual in that the head and neck are slipped red, while the body is slipped tan. The shoulder blades are prominently indicated.
