DescriptionNecklace is composed of irregular, variegated, colored stone beads with a stone head pendant. The pendant is Mezcala culture, Guerrero or Oaxaca state, Mexico. c.200 BC - 500 AD. Per donor, this item was purchased by her and her first husband. His family is descended from the first Spanish occupants of New Mexico in Santa Fe. One of the male relatives was the first mayor of Santa Fe. This necklace was purchased from a German born antique dealer named George Roni whose store was on Hollywood Blvd, in Los Angeles. He was well known during the 1960's as a source of authentic relics and folk art.On View
