DescriptionJohn Bohnenberger (American, 1926-2012) was an artist from Chicago, Illinois who settled in California after serving in the U.S. Army. He was a self-taught watercolor artist known for abstract, figural, landscape, marine, and still life paintings. His subjects included a series of California suburban neighborhood scenes, one of which was this watercolor of the Bowers Museum bell tower from the corner of Main and 20th Street.On View
